A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Cunningham, TN.
Jesse Millard Hagewood, age 91 of Cumberland Furnace, TN died on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.
Jesse was born July 6, 1929 at home in Cumberland Furnace, TN. He was a son of the late Watkins Welch Hagewood and Ethel Groves Hagewood. He retired from Eubank Asphalt Paving and Sealing after 21 years of employment. During his employment, he operated a spreader. After retirement, Jesse continued to enjoy the outdoors, especially those sunny days when he could work on his lawn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lucille Christy Hagewood; his daughter, Beverly Kay Hagewood; his son, Ricky Lee Hagewood; brothers, Wesley, Ewing, Martin, Clayton and Erbie Hagewood; sisters, Elizabeth Blackwell, Marie Christy, and Maydell Jones.
He is survived by his children, Wanda Faye Garnett (Willie), Patricia Ann Resheske (her recently deceased husband, Michael), Mary Elizabeth Cooper (Brian), Teresa Dell Byard, Vicky Cordell (Glen); his brother, Clifford “Jack” Hagewood; 10 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge and thank Jesse’s niece, Gail Adams for her love, kindness and caregiving for their father.
