Funeral Mass will be Wednesday September 25, 2024 at 1 PM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in McEwen, TN. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday September 24th from 5 to 8 PM with a Rosary at 7 PM and on Wednesday 10 AM to 12 PM at Taylor Funeral Home.
John Allen Farmer, age 83 of Dickson, TN passed away Saturday September 21, 2024. Born in Nashville, TN he was the son of the late Allie Clifton and Gertrude Inez Dickerson Farmer and was preceded in death by his son, Michael Farmer. John retired from the City of Dickson Police Department with 23 years of service. He also was the owner of BBJ’s and J and J Farmer gun store. He was a member of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Etta Jane Farmer of Dickson, TN; daughter, Renee Mitchell (Ronnie) of Dickson, TN; sons, David Farmer (Laura) of Winter Park, FL, Chris Farmer (Libby) of Vanleer, TN; 12 grandchildren, Weslie Bleeker, Leila Ricketts, Richard, Danielle, Erica Bex Farmer, Blake & Shane Farmer, Sydney Farmer, Allie, Nate, Judith & Etta Young; great granddaughter, Kalynn Adkins; brother-in-law, Tom Coplin (Bonnie); niece, Kelly.
Casket Bearers will be Chris Farmer, Nate Young, Ronnie Mitchell, Dan Smith, Clif Johnson, Chad Snow. Honorary Casket Bearers will be David Farmer, Jeremy Hagler, Jim Anderson, Hawk Wingate, Nekoma Wingate and the City of Dickson Police Department.
