Larry Delmer Myatt, age 84 of Burns, TN died on October 22, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on November 1, 2025 at the Burns Baptist Church. Visitation is scheduled from 12:00 noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Burns Baptist Church for mission trip ministries.
Mr. Myatt was born on January 27, 1941 in Dickson County. He was a son of the late Jesse Marlin Myatt and the late Dorothy Flowers Myatt. At a young age he married Eleanor Joan Mangrum. Larry loved to fish, and he also enjoyed rabbit hunting and coon hunting. Over the years he and Joan spent many days at the Tennessee River in Eva, TN. It was a special place for weekends and weeklong getaways. By trade Larry was a farm machinery mechanic. In 1965 he began working for Canon and Cox. During his career he also worked for Massie Ferguson, Ford and retired in 2006 from Donegan’s Repair and Equipment.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Thomas Myatt, and a grandson, Caleb K. Murphy.
Larry Myatt is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Joan Mangrum Myatt; daughter, Pam Murphy (Jeff); son, Roger Alan Myatt; brother, William Luther Myatt; sisters, Linda Faye Yates, and Mildred Jean Young; grandchildren, Cody Myatt, and Nikki Parker; granddaughter-in-law, Mary Beth Murphy, great grandchildren, Jason Murphy, Justin Murphy, Cameron Butts, and Blake Myatt.
