A funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church in Dickson with Bro. Randy Franklin officiating. Place of rest will be in the Hafner Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, October 10, from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, all at the Bethel Baptist Church.

Larry Michael Bruce, age 77 of Dickson, passed away on October 4, 2025, in his home surrounded by family. He was born on June 9, 1948, in Dickson, to the late Hubert Ted Bruce and Laura Dunnaway Bruce.

Larry worked in Dispatch for Dickson Police Department for over 38 years. He was also a proud member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Dickson. Mr. Bruce was married to the love of his life, Kathy Hafner Bruce for over 47 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Wanda Humes and Wilma Bruce.

Survivors include his wife: Kathy Bruce of Dickson; his children: Jimmy Lewis, Tika Bruce Manley (Ricky), and Michael Bruce (Cheryl), all of Dickson; his siblings: Jimmy Bruce, Edna Rye, and Sandy Heggie; grandchildren: Braxton Bruce, Braden Young, Stephanie Lewis, and Haleigh Stephenson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Uncle Larry you were my to go to when I wanted to discuss something in the bible how you loved my patoto salad my canned beets tomato juice and tomatoes you were always telling me to behave you married Richard and me 8 years ago I’m gonna miss you your house isn’t gonna be the same when I come home for a visit knowing your not gonna be there you was one of my favorite uncles fly high until we meet again I love you Sheila

  2. Larry I was truly sorry to hear of your passing. We shared many passing conversations, and many a laugh when you were dispatching. You have been a good example for officers, and fellow men. Rest easy your work is done.

Kathy & Family my sympathy and love goes out to all of you the loss of Larry will be a huge miss he was a Godly man and I enjoyed knowing him as my friend and Boss at Central Dickson Dispatch we all worked hard but enjoyed our job and bonded as friends. Larry, would go out of his way to help anyone and we would have good laughs i enjoyed talking to him about the Bible now he’s with the Lord. AMEN 🙏

  7. I am so saddened to hear of the passing of a Great Man and Great Father and Husband that I am glad to call a great friend. I worked with Larry for years when I was a police officer and he was a professional and everyone loved Larry. Prayers for Kathy and their family. God Bless 🙏 you all. So sad.
