Loyd Grady Robinson, beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, husband, brother and friend to all, passed away Thursday morning at 10:55 am CDT.

He was born on November 16, 1934 in Mount Lebanon, Tennessee. A long-time member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church in Nashville, TN, he first attended Mt. Lebanon Methodist Church where the Robinson’s were one of the original founding families.

Grady served in the United States Air Force in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s and was named Airman of the Year in 1960. He retired from Diesel Sales and Service where he was consistently the top salesperson.

Grady is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Hamilton Robinson, his son Eric Loyd Robinson of Atlanta and his daughter, Tamera Deckard (and Ralph) Smith of Smyrna, Tennessee; grandchildren Amanda Deckard (Mandy), Anna Grace Mills (and Cade), Madalyn Smith, Ryan Loyd Robinson (and Katie) and Rachel Marie Robinson. Grady had two great grandchildren, Sarah Rose Delgado and David Loyd Robinson.

Grady was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd Slemons Robinson and Ora Allen Robinson; his brothers, J.B., William (Bill), Roger and Kenton (Kent) Robinson, as well as sisters Florence Cerda and Jane Farley. He is survived by sisters Betty Sutherland (of Charlotte, TN) and Patricia Ann Haley (of College Grove, TN) as well as another brother Richard Robinson of Mt. Lebanon, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to Hillcrest United Methodist Church Mens’ Club at 5112 Raywood Lane, Nashville, TN and Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church of Mt. Lebanon, TN.

Due to current events, a small, immediate family only, graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery in Dickson, TN. Celebration of life services will be conducted Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 12 Noon from Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church with military honors. Services will be jointly for his late brother, Mr. Roger G. Robinson who died March 25, 2020. Fellowship with the families will follow the services.
