Funeral services will take place on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Ragan Cemetery in Vanleer, TN. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service also at the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mary Lee Nelson, age 99 of Vanleer, TN passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Signature Healthcare of Erin. She was born on February 22, 1922 in Dickson County to the late Claude and Clara Lee Baker. She was a long-time member of the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church in Vanleer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Dan Aaron Nelson; her sons: Dan Aaron Nelson, Jr. and Dale Nelson; her brothers: Hubert Ray Baker and Jones Edward Baker; and her sister: Willie Mae Street.
Survivors include her sons: David Nelson of Vanleer, TN, Randy Nelson (Georgia) of Slayden, TN, Hubert Nelson (Talena) of Vanleer, TN, and Ralph Nelson of Vanleer, TN; her daughters: Joyce Wright of Vanleer, TN, Lottie Reynolds of Waverly, TN, and Theresa Beider of Fox Lake, Illinois; her sisters: Betty Sue Travis and Christine Looney; twenty grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her “Red-Headed Step-Child”: Ricky Smith of Vanleer, TN.
