Melissa Gay “Missy” Idle, age 60 of Dickson, passed away unexpectedly on March 15, 2026, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Crystal C. Petty officiating. Burial will follow in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, March 18, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 12 noon until the time of service. Missy’s favorite color was pink, and to honor that, her family requests anyone attending her service to wear something pink.

Missy was born on June 17, 1965, in Troy, Ohio. She attended the Nazarene Church for many years. She also loved listening to country music, especially Josh Turner. She enjoyed anything to with horses and the color pink.

Survivors include her mother: Betty Idle of Dickson; her sister: Dee Annis (Derek) of Dickson; her nieces: Caitlin Annis and Kelcie Annis (Cole) both of Dickson; her best friend: Peggy Wilt of Dickson; and her special friends: Sue Coffey, Nancy Eleazer, and Charles Harper, along with her many other friends from Developmental Services of Dickson County.

  1. So sorry to hear about Missy’s passing. I have so many memories of her when we were growing up and hanging out with Dee. I remember her dancing in circles to yackety yack and she loved Incredible Hulk back then. Many prayers and hugs to Ms Betty, Dee, Caitlin and Kelcie.

  5. Missy meant the world to me. I love how much she just loved going out with us. and how she loved going to Hardee’s for her biscuit and gravy. Then going bowling, getting strikes. That made her so happy. How she loved doing crafts. She also loved seing pictures of my granddaughters. Missy you will be missed so deerly. I love you girl. Rest now my angel.
