Micheal Ray Springer, born December 21, 1955, entered eternal rest on January 28, 2026, at the age of 70. Born and raised in Dickson, Tennessee, Micheal lived a life rooted in honesty, hard work, and deep love for his family. He was known for keeping it real, never sugar-coating the truth, and for loving just as boldly as he lived.
FAITH, FAMILY, AND FATHERHOOD
Micheal professed his faith in Christ at an early age and was recently led by God to become a member of New Day Church. Though medical challenges prevented him from serving as he desired, he often shared his hope of one day serving as an usher, a role he looked forward to with pride and joy. At the center of Micheal’s life was his family. He was a great father who always showed his children, Jeremy Cordell Springer and Lydia Michael Springer, that they were supported, protected, and deeply loved. Micheal traveled back and forth to Dickson to attend sporting events, graduations, and major milestones for his children, grandchildren, and loved ones.
He believed strongly in knowing where you come from and staying connected to your people. Micheal made it a point to pick up Jeremy and Lydia – and at times other family members – from Nashville and bring them back to Dickson, ensuring they remained rooted in family, history, and community. Those trips, filled with conversation, truth, and guidance, will be cherished forever.
WORK ETHIC, DETERMINATION AND CRAFT
Micheal dedicated more than 40 years of his life to masonry, helping build Nashville from the ground up, leaving his mark on a growing city including the Bridgestone Arena, celebrity homes and more. Through honest work, skilled hands, and lasting craftsmanship he excelled in masonry truly which reflected his character – solid, dependable, and built to last. He took pride in honest work and was respected for his skill, reliability, and commitment to getting the job done right. In his younger years, Micheal was a student athlete who understood discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. He achieved all-star accolades for outstanding athleticism in track and baseball at Dickson County Senior High School, where he graduated in1974. The lessons learned through his athletics and career shaped the man he became and stayed with him throughout his life.
PASSION, PERSONALITY, AND PRESENCE
Micheal had a larger-than-life presence. If something crossed his mind, you were going to hear it – honesty was simply who he was. He was well known for cooking some of the best steaks around. An avid gardener, Micheal took great pleasure in planting beautiful flowers for his family, brightening their days in simple but meaningful ways. His love was real, his words were real, and his presence was unforgettable.
FAMILY LEGACY
Micheal was the son of the late Riley and Georgia Evans Springer and was deeply proud of the Springer family legacy in Dickson. He is survived by his loving children, Jeremy Springer (Michelle) and Lydia Springer, whom he affectionately called his “Baby Girl”; his grandchildren, Dominici< Joseph Hamer, Jr. and Jeremiah Immanuel Springer; his sister, Janet Grimes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. Micheal was preceded in death by his brother, Riley W. Springer; his sister, Emily “Sister” Springer Huddleston; nephews Jerome Springer and Carlos Springer; and niece Erica “CoCo” Springer. Micheal Ray Springer leaves behind a legacy of authenticity, strength, and unconditional love. He taught those around him to stand firm in who they are, to value family, and to live honestly. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his voice, lessons, love and realness will live on in every life he touched.
The Springer family gratefully acknowledges cousin Judy Evans Collier and daughter-in-law Michelle Springer for their dedication and support, and thanks to all who offered love, prayers and acts of service during this difficult time.
