A graveside service for Morris Leon Jones, age 88 of Dickson, TN, was held on May 7, 2014 at 12 noon at the Sherwood Cemetery with Bro. Chris Bohanon officiating. Mr. Jones died on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the home of his Daughter, Linda in Tampa, Florida. His remains were cremated.
Morris Leon Jones was born May 18, 1925 in Sylvia, Tennessee. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during World War II. He served as infantry with the 902 Army Air Forces Base Unit . He was present for the Battles and Campaigns of Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, and Rhineland. He was awarded numerous decorations including the Purple Heart.
Mr. Jones is survived by his 2 Daughters, Linda Golden and her Husband, Phillip of Tampa Florida, and Marcella Jones of Tampa, Florida; 2 Granddaughters; and 5 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a Son, Michael Leon Jones.
