Myrtle Roszene Pollard was a sweet, loveable and strong person who was willing to help others that were down on their luck. She would often assist those whom she loved, in various ways of help needed. She believed that in helping others, there was a God given blessing in it. She often took care to help, and as such she was her family’s and friend’s best babysitter. She loved kids and enjoyed babysitting. Now, with her own children and grandchildren, she especially loved pleasing them by cooking their favorite foods. Her children and grandchildren loved boasting about her secret ways to make her dishes the best in town.

She was employed at East Hills Restaurant alongside her sisters and at Goodlark Hospital before retiring. Her family members believed she also had incredible strength in dealing with the many heartaches she suffered. They witnessed her carrying on, in her faith, despite her pain.

Myrtle Roszene was a strong, faithful, and loyal servant of God. Her family and some others knew she had strong religion as well as good religion, because she would express to them that being “Right with God” was necessary. Thereby she would faithfully tell family, friends and neighbors when necessary: “Y’all need to stop that because it ain’t Right with God.”

Myrtle Roszene at an early age, accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a Sanctified Christian member of the Original Church of God, under the pastoring of Elder James Satterfield II. She also praised and worshipped many years at Word of Life Tabernacle Church with Apostle Cecila Grimsley. Myrtle Roszene Pollard was married to Albert L. Pollard in 1960. To this union four sons and one daughter were born. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. Her heart’s desire was for her entire family to be or become Sanctified Christians.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Birdia Brown Nunley and Allen Nunley; her husband, Albert Leroy Pollard; two sons, Kenny Wayne Pollard and Paul Tyrone Pollard; her brothers, Billy Gene Brown, Allen Nunley, and Steve Akins; Sisters, Alline Nunley, Dorothy Grimes, Willie B. House, Della Gordon, Carolyn Hogan, Betty Hughes, Veronica Grigsby, Mary Lou Marsh and Mary Delores “Jo” Corlew.

Pollard; her sister, Annette Yarbrough; 8 grandchildren, Treymonte Nunley, Genesha Butts, Jequita Peoples, Tylaina Smith, Tabreka Pollard, Litney Hinton, Amanda Pollard, Garette Mallory; brother-in-laws, Wilbert Hogan and Robert L.
