Nevelin Magaline Fowlkes, born on March 3, 1935, in Bon Aqua, TN, passed away on January 29, 2026.
She loved Jesus Christ. She was a great mom! She loved my dad, her sons, her family, extended family and her many, many friends. She was a selfless servant leader. She taught teenage girl in Sunday School for 5-10 years: a few years later she started working in the toddler room once a month on Sundays for 10-15 years.
Everyone loved her: her strength, determination, smile, and the love she showed everyone she met. Beloved by her family and friends. Everyone loved her strength, determination, smile, and the love she showed everyone she met.
She was the Martha Stewart of Dickson, TN. She kept an immaculate house, cooked lots of delicious food (most notably her delectable caramel pies) for family and/or church gatherings. She enjoyed working outside and tending her garden.
She was an avid University of Tennessee fan. For 30 years or more she and my dad, Kenneth, played Pinochle on Friday nights with their dear friends, and she also played in a bridge club for years.
At the age of 48, she started working in a factory in Fairview for 22 years.
Survived by her children Ken, Keith, his wife Stephanie; grandchildren Amelia, Darius and Dax; sisters Elizabeth Savely, Sarah Brake; sister-in-law Dolly Tidwell, as well as numerous friends and loved ones.
Preceded in death by her loving husband Kenneth Ray Fowlkes, brothers John Tidwell and Harvel Tidwell; sisters Jewel Daugherty and Hazel Marie Buttrey; parents Lewis E Tidwell and Annie Lee Tidwell.
