Mrs. Serena Stewart Petty, age 73 of Dickson, died Friday, October 18, 2013 at Alive Hospice Residence at St. Thomas. Visitation will be held Saturday from 2 until 8 p.m. Funeral services for Mrs. Serena Petty will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2013 from Walnut Street Church of Christ with Bro. Steve Baggett officiating. Visitation on Sunday will be at the church from 1 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow in the Southerland Cemetery near Charlotte. For those desiring, memorials may be made to the Walnut Street Church of Christ Youth Fund or the Walnut Street Foreign Missions Fund.
Born in Dickson County, Serena was the daughter of the late William Temple Stewart and the late Margaret Daniel Hicks Stewart Williamson. She was a devoted wife, and a wonderful loving mother and grandmother and a member of Walnut Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis Petty, Dickson; three sons, Chuck Glass, Greg (Lynda) Glass, and Tim (Amy) Glass, all of Dickson; three daughters, Margaret (Ronnie) Kliewer, Cumberland Furnace, Danna (Jacky) Nicholson and Katie (Tony) Jones, all of Charlotte; three step-children, Missy (Mike) Smigelski, Murfreesboro, TN, Mandy (Tom) Roche and Brant (Linda) Petty, all of Dickson; one brother, Bill Stewart, Nashville; one sister, Melissa (Joe) Curcio, Dickson; 25 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
