Shelton Charles Suggs, age 90 of Cumberland Furnace died Friday April 22, 2016 peacefully at his home. His wishes were to be cremated and all services will be private. Private services were held Thursday morning, June 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dickson Union Cemetery.
Born in Lyles, TN he was the son of the late Herman J. and Ida Ferebee Suggs and was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Nell Davidson. Shelton was retired from Bechtel Power Corporation where he worked as a Project Engineer. He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran who served on the USS Burleson. Shelton was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Jean Hayes Suggs of Cumberland Furnace; son Richard Herman Suggs of Cumberland Furnace; Three granddaughters and six great grandchildren.
