Sherry Elaine “Sissy” Harris Gill – Age 48 of Dickson passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016.
Family will receive friends from 4-8pm on Saturday, May 28, 2016 and from 12-8pm Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11am on Monday, May 30, 2016 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Sylvia, TN.
Sissy was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lola Shelton; brother, Scotty Harris; 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
She is survived by her husband, Randy H. Gill; mother, Rachel Shelton Harris, brother, Shane (April) Harris; Stephanie (Jeff) Edwards and several nieces and nephews.
Sissy was a 1985 graduate of Dickson County High School. She also graduated from Nashville Business College. She was a member of Water Street Church of Christ, Charlotte, TN.
She was considered a “Couponing Queen” and bargain shopper. She was known to have a buggy full of groceries and only pay a few dollars or at times the store would even pay her.
Although Sherry had no children of her own, she assisted many families in the community providing childcare. “Her Kids” were her passion and the joy and fulfillment she had with them was imaginable. She was a true nurturer and will be dearly missed.
The Gill family have requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to help offset funeral expenses.
