Steve’s request was to be cremated with no visitation or service. He passed away February 19, 2020 with his wife and three puppies at his side under Tennova Hospice in Clarksville, TN. Steven was born February 5, 1953 in California to the late John Shorey and Bonnie Yeager Shorey. His brother Larry Shorey also preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Dickson Humane Society.
Captain Shorey was a long time law enforcement officer with the Dickson County Sheriff Department with 28 years service, including his last years of employment with the U.S. Marshall Task Force through Dickson County.
Survivors include his wife Joyce Mashburn Shorey of 20 years, of Clarksville, TN; his daughter Suzanna (Chris) Moore of Robards, KY. His step daughters, Chrysti (Bobby) Dobbs of Springfield, TN; Julie (David) Cardwell of Seymour, TN. His grandson, Dylon Moore, KY; step-grandchildren Mariah Moore, KY; Belle and Ben Cardwell of Seymour, TN. His caretaker Maquisha Boyd, of Clarksville, TN and his 4-legged children, Schatzi, Boo and Lucky.
