Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Duke officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Thomas Larry “T. Larry” Gardner, age 79, of Burns, TN, passed away on December 19, 2022 at Vanderbilt University Medical Hospital.
T. Larry was born in Medina, TN on February 20, 1943 to the late Chester Gardner and Ruth Harris Gardner. He was a 1966 graduate of The University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. After college, T. Larry served in the United States Army from 1966-1968. He served as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam from 1967-1968. After completing his military service, he worked as the Superintendent of the Dickson Water Department for over 30 years and Superintendent of the Kingston Springs Water Department before his retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Lewis Gardner.
Survivors include his son; Steve Gardner of Jackson, TN, his daughter; Marian Burlison (Joey) of Hermitage, TN, sister Judy Petty (Harold) of Jackson, TN, grandchildren; Logan Gardner (Alexis) of Cordova, TN, Kaitlyn Gardner of Russell Springs, Ky, and companion; Barbara Jo Parker of Madisonville, TN.
