Timothy “Tim” Durham, Sr., age 73 of of Nashville and Dickson, TN died on June 20, 2020.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Tim lived in Nashville most of his life and retired from Metro Nashville Police Department after almost 44 years of service. He was a Lieutenant and a founding member of the SWAT team. He loved shooting and anything gun related. He was an expert marksman. He enjoyed target practice and gun repair.
He was a Christian and loved to tell others about the Lord. So much so that he acquired the nickname “preacher” on his extra jobs. He did missionary work in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky for many years, feeding needy children and restoring a large home for women suffering from addiction.
Tim lived his retirement years in Dickson, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joyce Maloy Durham and his mother, Victoria Beecham Durham.
Tim is survived by his wife, Diane Durham; his children, Tim Durham Jr. (Cissy), Amy Solomon, Joshua Durham, Beth Gaddes (Jason), Susan Cordova (Joe). Nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Brother, Ed Durham (Sue), many nieces, nephews and cousins.
