Celebration of Life Service will be conducted Saturday afternoon, December 13, 2025, At 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday beginning at 12 Noon until the time of his service.   To view a livestream of the funeral on Saturday at 2:00 PM, please click HERE.  His remains will be forwarded to South Carolina for burial.

For those desiring, memorials may be made to Taylor Funeral Home for end of life expenses.

Trayvon Markeese Brand “Tray” was born April 13, 1999, in Nashville, Tennessee to parents Tarrie Cantey and James Brand Jr. Tray graduated from East Hickman High School in 2018. Tray loved sports and had the privilege of playing football at East Hickman High School. Tray’s jersey number was #55. He worked as a HVAC Technician until his untimely death on December 1, 2025. Tray was a huge football fan supporting his team, the New England Patriots. Tray had the brightest smile; his smile would light up any room. Tray had a love for animals. He was a man that loved his family and friends. He never met a stranger; people would always gravitate to him. Tray fought a good fight.

Tray was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Brand Sr. and Daisy Brand, a brother, Kedarius Brand and his maternal great grandparents, Leroy and Ruby Canty.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving mother, Tarrie Cantey and his father, James (Courtney) Brand, Jr., his siblings, Jayvon Canty, Jaymarion Brand, Iviana Brand, Samiya Dubose, Moses Dubose Jr., Ashlynn Brand, Janeyah Brand, McKenna Brand and Mylee Brand, his maternal grandmother Linda Junious, his lifelong girlfriend Lexi Jenkins whom he loved dearly, a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Tray will forever live in our hearts and memories.

  2. I know and understand how heavy this hour is… and it is okay to feel weak. That’s when we understand that this kind of burden is beyond our control and let God. Allow the power of Yah to carry you and lead you… I’m deeply hurt! My prayers and empathy go out to you!

    Tray was an amazing man. I’ll miss the smiles and jokes and definitely his patience and composures!! Greatly going to be missed!! You have raised a great man!!!

    Losing someone is never easy. The pain is real, but so is God’s promise.
