Services for William Lafayette “Bill” Wingate, III, age 54 of Charlotte, will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, September 26, 2021, from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Melton officiating. He will be cremated after the service. Bill died Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Horizon Medical Center. Memorials may be made to Dickson County Fire and Rescue.
Born in Willcox, Arizona, Bill was the son of the late Debra Finley Wingate and William L. Wingate, II. He was the manager of Blockbuster Videos where he was affectionately known as “Blockbuster Bill.”
Survivors include his wife, Gaile Wingate, Charlotte; his children, Hawken Kae Wingate (Kim), Nekoma Skye Wingate (Brooke), both of Dickson, Sheena-Marie Raven Washo Wingate, of Charlotte, Nikkita Denae Demumbran (Chris), of Camden, and Antonio Michael Moss, of Dickson; eleven grandchildren; brothers, Travis Olekers (Marilyn) of Florida, Ronald Olekers of Arizona, Wane Gorsek of Nevada, Phillip Clark (Marie) of Ohio, Michael Clark of Arizona, Jimmy Clark of Arizona , and James Patrick Califf of Michigan; a sister, Tammy Gonzalez (Loren) of New Mexico; stepmother Patsy Clark Wingate; bonus dads, John Farmer (Janie) of Dickson and Pat Califf (Sheron) of New Jersey.
