Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Steve McCarley, Melissa Larkins and Jason Larkins will conduct the service. Visitation will be Thursday evening, March 12th, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  The family will have a quiet day on Friday and will resume visitation Saturday morning, March 14th beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Private interment will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens.

Those desiring memorials are suggested to Camp Leatherwood or to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.

Willis Gale Larkins, age 89, lifelong resident of White Bluff, TN died peacefully March 8, 2026, at NHC The Trace after a short stay.

He was born in White Bluff, TN and was the son of the late Samuel Calvin and Jewel Irene Fielder Larkins. He graduated from William James High School Class of 1956 and worked with Ford Glass for many years until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Lou Larkins Brown.

Gale Larkins served his county as a county commissioner for some 24 years. He has served his church, White Bluff Church of Christ, as a Deacon for many years. He was a joyful and happy man that truly loved his family and friends and will be missed by many.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Bessie Sullivan Larkins of White Bluff, TN, his three children, Melissa Gale Larkins of Bentonville, AR, James W. Larkins of Nashville, TN, Jason Sullivan Larkins and his wife Leslie of Nashville, TN. Many loved nieces and nephews.

Casket bearers will be Chad Dickson, Andy Sullivan, Mark Sullivan, Brent Brown, Greg Brown, Matt Hawkins and Howard Daniel Brown will serve as honorary.

  1. So sorry for the loss of Mr. Larkins. Prayers for Bessie and her family. We attended the White Bluff Church of Christ where he attended. He never missed a Sunday morning that he did not come over and speak to us and joke around. He was a very kind man.

  3. Gale was a wonderful person from a very beautiful family. He never met a stranger and was personally involved in volunteer work. Dickson county will miss him and remember him
