Through the Developmental Services of Dickson, Ernetta found a place of useful service at Bank of Dickson for a number of years. She was deeply committed to her job and her friends at the bank.
In 1992, at the Dickson Civitan Club’s Banquet, a plaque was presented to Ernetta Stokes, naming her the Dickson County Handicapped Person of the Year. At this time, she was also presented a certificate in her honor from Governor Ned McWherter.
Preceding her in death are Father and Mother, Albert and Hazel Turner Stokes; her brother, Ernest Stokes; her sister, Alberta (Stokes) Gentry; Stepmama, Anna Belle Murphy Stokes; grandparents, Albert and Lucy Stokes, and Ernest and Clyde Gibbs.
She is survived by her brother, Mark Stokes (Teresa), Dickson; nieces, Corie Williams and Melissa Stokes Prince; nephews, Derrick Gentry and Matthew Stokes; great-nephews, Noah and Lucas Prince and Curtis Williams; great-nieces, Victoria and Erin Gentry, and Elizabeth Williams.
