Born in Dickson, John D. was the son of the late J. D. and Aulson Alexander Christy. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Christy and his wife Sandra, two sisters, Barbara Neblett and her husband James Robert, and Christine Williams; and by a daughter-in-law, Laurie Parker. John D. worked in construction as a carpenter’s apprentice and was a member of Burns Church of God of Prophecy. John D. was very active in Masonic circles and was a member of Tennessee City Lodge #548, where he was a Veteran Secretary (for serving 25+ continuous years), a member of McEwen Lodge #525, 3-degree Masonic Motorcycle Club, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of Al Menah Shrine Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Hall Christy, Dickson; a daughter, Jessica James (Craig), of Dickson; sons, Scott Christy (Christina), and Jason Parker, both of Dickson, and Jeremy Parker, of Weaverville, NC; his sisters, Tina Haley (Robert) of Murfreesboro, Jan Orton (Eddie), and Debbie Hudgins, both of Dickson; grandchildren, Jackson and Molly Christy, Conner and Libby Christy, Amanda and Ledger Chase, Gage and Chase Parker; a great grandchild, Elliyah Chase.
