Leverne Woods Fisher, age 77 of Bon Aqua, TN died at home with family by her side on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 28, 2023 at the Taylor Funeral Home with Chad Fussell and Bro. Jeff Odum officiating. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday at the Ivy Point Church of Christ Cemetery near Ridgetop, TN. The visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
For those desiring, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Leverne was born on February 14, 1946 in Ridgetop, TN. She was a daughter of the late Verne Woods and Edith Binkley Woods Adams and Stepfather the late Pat Adams. She was a graduate of Greenbrier High School and Middle Tennessee State University. On September 3, 1966, she married her middle school sweetheart, Jerry Baxter Fisher and they began a journey that would last a wonderful 47 years before his passing. Together they enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. Mrs. Fisher dedicated much of her life as an educator, having taught 1st and 2nd grade for nearly 35 years, with most of her service at Burns Elementary School. She loved God and was a faithful member of the Brown’s Chapel Church of Christ. Family was precious to her, she adored her three sons and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her parents, Verne and Edith, as well as her stepfather, Patrick Adams; and her husband, Jerry Fisher.
She is survived by her three sons, Michael Fisher (Aimee), Rob Fisher (Lori), and Jason Fisher; her grandchildren, Hannah Fisher, Sam Fisher, Ben Fisher, and Nate Fisher; sister-in-law, Merna Schott. Also surviving are nephews, Chad Schott, and Collin Fisher.
