John Alexander Spicer IV, known as Alex to many was 41 years old when he died unexpectedly on September 7, 2023.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Sesler officiating.  His place of rest will be in the Union Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of service.  For those desiring, memorials may be made to the Dickson Humane Society.

Alex was born on January 26, 1982 in Dickson, TN.  He worked for 20 years at The General Insurance Company, where he held several positions, his last position was in the programming department.  Most recently, he was employed at Onward as a maintenance technician.  Alex loved hunting, fishing and animals.  He enjoyed collecting things.  He was a huge personality and he helped so many people.  When he was employed at The General, he was the guy that people hunted down when they couldn’t get their car to start, had a flat tire, etc.  He was always willing to help others.  Alex seemed to know a little bit about a lot of things, he was intelligent, with thoughts that quickly came to mind. 

Alex is survived by his parents, Anita Bristol (Mike), and John Alexander Spicer III (Cindy); his siblings, MiShell Bristol, Kenny Beverly (Kristen), and Juanita Motter; his grandmother, Ruth Jackson; his nieces and nephew, Zoey Spicer, Chloe Beverly, Madison Beverly, Tyler Motter, and Joslyn Motter.  Also surviving are several aunts and uncles, and his pets, Chunk, Ninja, and Durango.

Alex was preceded in death by his brother, Jake Spicer.
