Funeral services will be held, Friday, September 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Bro. Steve Baggett will officiate the service. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
For those desiring, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Buford Ira Willis, Sr., age 90, of Dickson, TN passed away on September 20, 2023, at his home.
Buford was born in Nashville, TN on July 16, 1933, to the late Allen Dudley Willis and Ethel Mae Thompson Willis. He graduated from Hillsboro High School and worked for the Metro Water Department, as a collector, from 1958 to 1993. He was a loving husband, celebrating 58 years of marriage. He was a fantastic father and loving grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved sports, especially Alabama Crimson Tide Football and Kentucky Wildcats basketball. He served in the National Guard and was the type of man that never met a stranger; he loved to talk.
He is survived by his wife; Kay Kimbro Willis of Dickson, TN, children; Buford Willis Jr. (Julie) of Nashville, TN, Kimberly Willis of Dickson, TN, Deborah Willis Fuller (Ron) of Dickson, TN, Charles Willis of Dickson, TN, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
