A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Riggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Charlotte. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 17, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made payable to Rachel McDonald c/o Janice McDonald Memorial College Fund, at FirstBank of Dickson to assist her grandchildren in attending college.
Janice Ann Hayes McDonald, age 71, of Charlotte, went to be with Jesus on October 13, 2023, in her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 22, 1952, in Dickson County to the late Hughie Clifford and Betty Revalla Sensing Hayes.
Jan was truly a servant, having served as a Pastor’s wife for over 50 years. She was a member of the Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She also worked for many years at Oakmont Elementary School as a monitor in the cafeteria. Her favorite title was that of “Granny”, as she loved spending time with her grandchildren every chance she had.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Joy Lynn Miller.
Survivors include her husband of over 50 years: Rev. Tim McDonald; her son: Nathan McDonald (Rachel) of Dickson; and her three grandchildren: Hailey McDonald, Harley McDonald, and Jason McDonald.
