Services for Mrs. Mannon Cape Taunton will be held on Tuesday, October 24, at the home of Jamie and Twyla Snyder, 1245 South Eno Road, Dickson, TN. The family will begin to receive visitors between 12:00 and 4:00. Graveside service will follow the visitation at the family cemetery beginning at 4:00. Mannon was born February 26, 1943 in Cordele, Georgia and was the youngest of four daughters born to Mrs. Ila Jane Cape and Mr. Mannon Dwayne Cape, her namesake. She unexpectedly went to her Heavenly home, at the age of 80, passing peacefully in her home on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
Mannon married her high school sweetheart, Joe Taunton, in 1963, and they were married 56 years, living in Georgia and Florida before settling in Dickson, Tennessee. She chose a career of serving others as a nurse, working at Saint Joseph in Atlanta and Saint Thomas in Nashville. She will long be remembered for her steadfast faith in Jesus Christ. She shared the experience and wisdom of her faith and life with those in need of encouragement.
Mannon’s legacy lives on through her two daughters, Twyla Snyder, husband Jamie, and Tonya Keller, husband Bryan. She has six grandchildren, Levi (Kelsea) Snyder, Winston (Molly) Snyder, Colten (Kate) Snyder, Holden (Vivian) Snyder, Kelsey (Dustin) Gilbert, and Shelby Jane Keller; and six great-grandsons, Shepherd, Amon, Riley, Boone and Leif Snyder and Audis Gilbert.
Mannon is preceded in death by her parents; her vivacious granddaughter, Josey Anna Keller; and her husband.
