A visitation will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Taylor Funeral Home from 1:00 to 3:00 pm with a graveside service to follow at the Southerland Cemetery in Charlotte with Ed White officiating. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Memorials can be made to the Southerland Cemetery Fund.
Catherine Sue Story, age 84 of Burns, TN passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family Sunday, October 22, 2023.
Sue Story was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She had a warm heart and a sweet, caregiving spirit. Her peaceful nature was always a comfort to her family, and she dedicated her life to caring for her loved ones. She never met a stranger or spoke an unkind word about anyone. Sue loved her children and instilled in them a strong bond of family. She loved watching sports and following her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to games and matches over many decades. She will be dearly missed and in our hearts forever.
She is preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Bonnie Brown; brother Wayne (Doris) Brown and sister Dorothy Bateman.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James Alton Story; daughter, Karen Simmons (Bobby Burgess); son, Brad (Cindy) Story; one sister, Jean Stamper; three brothers, Wesley (Ivene) Brown, Edsel (Elaine) Brown, Roy Brown; five grandchildren, Audra (Mike) Lastovka, Amanda (Bruce) Peery, Loren (Drew) Furr, Katie (BT) Sargent & Jack (Mary Lane) Story; six great grandchildren, Eli, Micah, Emma, Lake, Bruce & Karsen; several nieces and nephews.
