Juanita Ford Mitchell, age 89 of Dickson, TN died on December 1, 2023.  A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 4, 2023 at the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Baggett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens.  The visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. 

Mrs. Mitchell was born March 25, 1934, in Tupelo, MS.  She was a daughter of the late James Arden Ford and the late Myrtle Nancy Handcock Ford. 

Juanita worked for Southern Bell/AT&T after graduating High School, she transferred to Nashville in the mid 1960’s to be closer to family.  She resided with her brother, James Ford (Alma) and four kids for several years, before purchasing her own home.  Juanita made such an impact on our family with her love, sense of humor and zest for life.  Marrying later in life she never had children of her own, she was a wonderful Aunt-Mom to us all.

Juanita later transferred to the Dickson office of AT&T, where she met and married Robert E. Mitchell. They were married for over 40 years, before his passing December 4, 2019.  Robert is survived by Daughter, Alice (Jim) Victory, who she loved dearly, and was blessed with their family.

Juanita was a member of Walnut Street Church of Christ; she was truly blessed with her Christian brothers and sisters that called and visited her home.  She loved the Lord, reading and sharing his Word with others.  She loved volunteering and was active in the community with a servant’s heart.

She loved working in her flower gardens, trying new recipes, playing cards with friends.  She was blessed with many caring friends and neighbors; to which we extend a heartfelt thank you.  We were all blessed to have her in our lives.

She is survived by her stepdaughter, Alice (Jim) Victory; and their 4 grandchildren; niece, Dianne (Jeff) Payne; nephews, Dale (Anne) Ford, and Darrell (Brenda) Ford. 

In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by her She was preceded in death by her siblings, James H. Ford, of Gallatin, TN, and Garland Ford, of California; and a nephew, Danny (Becky) Ford.
