Emma Ruth Rogers Hunter, age 85 of Dickson, TN was born March 26, 1938 in Charlotte, TN and went to be with her Lord and Savior December 2, 2023 while surrounded by family.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the United Free Will Baptist Church, Dickson, TN.

She was a daughter of the late Herman B. Rogers and the late Annie Hafner Rogers.  Ruthie Mae, as renamed by her husband, Paul, had a great love for her family and her church.  She loved her yellow roses and her hummingbird feeders.  She loved to be on her back porch and watch the birds and deer in her backyard.  She loved to travel with “Pops”, especially to the beach, or really anywhere they had good food.  Ruth was a prayer warrior for her children and grandchildren, and friends in need.  Her eyes would sparkle when you entered her room.  She loved people with all her heart.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 37 years, Paul J. “Pops” Hunter; her six children, Athena Proctor (Dean), Lesa Fielder (Tim), Annette Foster (Wesley), Gordon Jackson (Monique), Terri Hunter Davis, and Paula Hunter Raper (Steven); her 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren.  Also surviving is her brother, John W. Rogers (Carla).

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her brother, Horace B. Rogers.

Ruth would tell you that she lived a full life, with love, joy, laughter, and tried her best to give honor and glory to her Savior, Jesus Christ.
