Memorial services will be conducted Sunday afternoon, December 17, 2023, at the Edgewood United Methodist Church beginning at 4:00 p.m. Visitation with his family will begin at the church on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. until time of service. Military Honors will be observed at the end of the service. All family and friends are invited to attend.
William H. Pierce, (Punkin), age 71, of Dickson, TN passed away early Thursday morning, December 7, 2023, at Tri-Star Horizon Medical Center in Dickson after losing his battle with cancer.
Punkin was born December 13, 1951, in Dickson, TN. He was the son of the late Melvin Howard and Ila Jane Baker Pierce. He was the 3rd of five children. He graduated from Dickson High School and then entered the United States Air Force spending 16 years in service to our country. After leaving the military he worked for several years for Quebecor Printing in Dickson, TN. Then later for Porcelain Industries in Dickson, TN, before retiring.
Howard, as he was known to most folks while growing up, had a great passion for the outdoors. Over the years he spent countless hours hunting and fishing, where he seemed most happy, mostly somewhere in the Yellow Creek Valley area of Dickson County where his family resided for many years.
Punkin was divorced and is survived by his daughter Conecia Deanne Pierce, granddaughter Vita Suzannah Pierce-Civitillo, two older sisters Betty Jane Alsobrooks, Wilma Joe Clark, and two younger brothers Mitchell Thomas Pierce, Nelson Bruce Pierce, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
