Joseph Wardie “Joe” Downs, 80, of Kingston Springs, passed away December 9, 2023 peacefully at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at the Harpeth Baptist Church in Kingston Springs, TN. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
He was born August 8, 1943 in Bardstown, Kentucky. He served his country in the Army from 1960-1963. He worked at Nashville Wire Products for 20+ years. He also ran a small welding business after retiring. He was an active member of Harpeth Baptist Church in Kingston Springs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Downs; wife Blonda Downs; parents Joe and Mary Downs; and three brothers, J. Marion “Turtle” Downs, Junior Downs, J. Edmund “Burlap” Downs.
He is survived by his daughter Shannon (Barry) Lane of White House; son Kevin Downs of Kingston Springs; two grandsons Brock and Eric; one granddaughter Hayden; and two great-grandsons.
