Funeral services will be conducted on Monday afternoon, December 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Preston Thompson officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday December 17, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Monday from 11: a.m. until the time of service. Place of rest will be in Memory Gardens in Centerville, TN.
Bobby Ferrell Dedman, age 80, of Bon Aqua, TN died peacefully at NHC in Dickson, December 16, 2023.
He was born in Hickman County, son of the late Robert Taylor and Lola Winters Dedman. After high school he attended Nashville Auto Diesel College. Mr. Dedman was the owner and operator of the former Dedman Trucking Company for some 20 years and later worked with Civil Construction until his retirement in 2008. He loved mechanics and had knowledge of mechanics. It has been said that if he envisioned it, he could build it. He was not a man of many words, but he could truly work with his hands.
He didn’t have too many hobbies, but one thing that he had a passion for was antique cars. At one time he owned a 1934 Ford Pickup and a 1932 Plymouth. He loved working on them and knew the mechanics of them from one end to the other.
He was married to the love of his life, Arcana Potts Dedman for 61 years.
Survivors include his wife, Arcana, his son; David Dedman, his daughters; Angie Cobb and Anne Lusk and her husband Michael, his four sisters; Brenda Thompson and her husband, Preston, Sandra Martin and her husband, Andrew, Nancy Lancaster and her husband, Edd, Janet Rogers, and her husband Larry. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Corey (Paige) Dedman, Payton (Abbi) Boyd, Kassi Dedman, Khristian Harris-Lusk, Kara (Colton) Binkley, Kameron Harris-Lusk, Emma Lusk, his great grandchildren; Addison Dedman, Amous Dedman, Madison Boyd and Connor Boyd.
The casket bearers will be Corey Dedman, Payton Boyd, Khristian Harris-Lusk, Kameron Harris-Lusk, Amous Dedman, Connor Boyd, Michael Lusk and Colton Binkley. The following will serve as honorary pall bearers, Kassi Dedman, Kara Binkley, Addison Dedman, Paige Dedman, Madison Boyd, Abbi Boyd and Emma Lusk.
