Born in Nashville, Cathy was the daughter of the late Tommy and Martha Ann Hughes Buttrey. She was a 1979 graduate of Dickson County High School. Known to family and friends as “Foot”, a nickname given her by her uncle, Cathy worked for 28 years for the Tennsco Corporation as a forklift operator. She loved her family and her grandson was her pride and joy! She also loved her friends and the people she worked with. She enjoyed traveling and her “camping” trips with her best friend, Wanda. Two of her favorite television shows were “Yellowstone” and “The Walking Dead.” And she will be missed by her cat, Gracie.
Survivors include her son, Brandon Garton, Dickson; her grandson, Aiden Nicks, Dickson; a step-son, Tracey Garton, Dickson; a brother, Keith Buttrey, Madison, TN; and her special friend and caregiver, Wanda Brandenburg, Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Martha Ann Buttrey, a brother, Daryl Buttrey, and by a sister, Teresa Buttrey.
