Nicholas (Nick) Ferrell Miller, age 72, of Dickson, TN passed away December 21, 2023.
Nick was born December 5, 1951, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN to the late Lincoln and Vera Ferrell Miller. Nick grew up in Dickson, TN and graduated from Dickson High class of 1969. He attended University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1975. Nick returned home and began working for TVA that same year. Nick excelled in his career and became very well known for his knowledge in his field. He worked for TVA for 30 years before retiring. After retirement he worked many years for Richmond Engineering as a consultant in his field.
In 1981 Nick married Susan Lavender, the two celebrated 32 wonderful years together and had two children. Nick loved his family. He coached both kids’ basketball teams, loved shooting fireworks on the 4th of July and was a grill master. He loved being a papa. His face would light up while watching or talking about his granddaughter. He loved cars, dogs, golfing, Nascar, Tennessee football and basketball, and the Nashville Predators.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lincoln and Vera Miller and sister Mickey Frazier.
Nick is survived by his former wife Susan Miller and their children Lauren (Gerald) Jones of White Bluff, TN, Nicholas (Courtney) Miller of Hendersonville, TN. One grandchild Annabelle Jones. His sister Marilyn Byrn of Franklin, TN, his brothers George (Linda) Miller of Dickson, TN, Larry (Kathy) Miller of Dickson, TN. Many nieces and nephews.
