A funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Dickson, TN. Entombment of ashes will follow at the Middle TN State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram at 1:00 p.m. with Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 19, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Taylor Funeral Home with a Rosary Service taking place at 7:00 p.m.

For those desiring, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Cristopher’s Catholic Church in Dickson.

Paul Vincent Wasik, age 67, of Anacortes, Washington, passed from this life on February 25, 2024, at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bellingham, Washington. He was born on June 11, 1956, in Wilmington, Delaware, to the late Francis “Frank” and Lorraine Bandiera Wasik.

After graduating from Dickson County High School, Paul attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville where he was a part of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and played on the Rugby team. Paul remained active in the alumni association and in recruitment at Vanderbilt for many years after his graduation. He was also a lifeguard for many years at the Ruskin Cave in Dickson. After college, Paul was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy, where he served selflessly as a Naval Aviator for over 8 years.

After his time in college and in the military, Paul continued his service as a contract employee for the United States Navy. He also was the owner and brewmaster at the Rockfish Grill & Anacortes Brewery for many years. Paul also loved to hunt and fish in his spare time, whether it be in Washington or in Tennessee.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sister: Kathryn Johnson; and his brothers-in-law: Dr. David Lee and Doug Johnson.

He is survived by his siblings: Alan Wasik (Judy) of Strawberry Plains, TN, Nancy Johnson (Dan) of Nashville, TN, Patricia Lee, of Knoxville, TN, and John Wasik (Kristy) of Eagleville, TN; his partner: Rita Shiva, of Anacortes, Washington; his nieces and nephews: Cody Johnson (Lacey), Lauren Johnson (Michael), Julianne Patel (Jay), Bennett Johnson, Paul Lee (Jane), Meredith Lee (George), Kathryn Lee (Kessel), Alexandra Lee, Jessica Wasik, Anna Wasik, and William Wasik; as well as great nieces and great nephews: Merritt, Max, and Ansley.
