Patricia (Pat) Ann Winning Malak passed away peacefully in Nashville, TN on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the age of 97.
She was born, reared and raised her own family in and around Cleveland, OH. It was in Ohio that she met the love of her life in the 6th grade, Donald (Don) J. Malak, a World War II PT Boat mechanic and subsequent sheet metal worker. In her youth, Pat worked as a seamstress and later for the Board of Education in Ohio. She was also her church’s organist for over 30 years while she and Don raised their two children, Cheryl, and Gary.
In retirement, Pat and Don moved to Franklin, TN to be near their kids and grandchildren. Pat was a gifted quilter and member of several quilting guilds. She also loved to cook, work crossword puzzles, and attend service with her church family. She was rarely found without a book and a cat in her lap. Above all, she loved her family who, while deeply grieving her loss, takes solace in knowing that she has finally been reunited with her beloved Don.
Pat was predeceased by her husband, Don, and her parents, Doug and Blanche Winning of Wadsworth, Ohio,
She is survived by her children, Cheryl Paulus, Gary (Linda) Malak; grandchildren, Stacey (Aaron) Megan, Brett (Kelly) Paulus, Megan Paulus, Sarah (Robbie) Pope, Cody (Kelly) Malak, sister Jeanne Padgitt; seven great grandchildren, a niece and a nephew and a great niece.
