Born in Cadillac, Michigan, Richard was the son of the late Guy and Neta Jenkins Thompson. He was a self-employed contractor and construction worker who specialized in designing and constructing garages and storage buildings. He was always a hard worker and believed in giving an honest days’ work for the pay he received. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and he always looked forward to traveling to Florida to his winter home for three or four months each year. Richard loved his family and friends and will be missed greatly by them.
Survivors include his wife, with whom he was together 34 years and married 23 years, Monica Davis Thompson, of Bon Aqua; sons, Kenneth Rogers and Brian Rogers, both of Michigan, Ronnie Thompson (Ivy); daughters, Sarena Thompson (Timothy Farrell) of Murfreesboro, TN and Dalcie Thomeson of Michigan; brothers, Denny Thompson, Bob Borton, and Martin Borton, all of Michigan; sisters, Nancy Johnson and Karlene Deacons, both of Michigan; and several other brothers and sisters; 17 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by several brothers and sisters, and by a grandson, Tristan Adams-Thompson
