Adam Elijah Lane Harris, sometimes called Adda or Adam Bomb, age 16, died suddenly July 3, 2025. Adam went to Heaven very quietly in his sleep.

Adam was born August 9, 2008, in Alpena, Michigan.  At the age of 3 he came into the lives of Shane and April Harris and their family and there he would have his home forever.  He was a blessing to the Harris family and the Harris family was a blessing to him for some 13 years.  Even though Adam could not verbally communicate he communicated in so many ways. His smile, his eyes, his sound. Adam had many needs, but he wanted for nothing.  In his communication he responded to his favorites, Mickey Mouse, the beach, the aquarium, music, especially The Judds, the splash pad, the pool, and the ocean even with a ventilator and trach. Adam loved his animals, he especially loved Waylon” Way-Way”, the Great Pyrenees. His grandmother Nanny Rachel found humor and truly believed Adam knew she was an old woman because the way he responded to her in a somewhat funny way.

Adam was a graduate of Creek Wood High School, Class of 2024. He attended Charlotte Fagan Community Church.

Adam was in and out of Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital throughout his short life. There they have met many friends, nurses, doctors, techs, specialists and they have all become their family. Special thanks to all our Vanderbilt Family. Your love and kindness over the years will always be remembered and cherished.

Adam is survived by his parents; Shane and April Williams Harris; his brothers and sister; Hunter Harris, Noah Harris, Zachary Harris (Laken), Mimmie Harris (Dalton) and Thomas Harris; his grandmother; Rachel Shelton Harris; two nephews, Grayson and Camden; Aunts, Stephanie (Jeff) Edwards and Mistie (Mike) Huff. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mikayla and Izzy. Also surviving are many cousins.
