Dennis Franklin Williams, 72, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away on August 23, 2025 after an eight year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Dennis was born on September 26, 1952 in White Bluff, Tennessee. After Dennis graduated from William James High School in 1970, he went on to join the Army and deployed to Vietnam in 1971.
After a medical retirement from the military, Dennis worked various jobs in Tennessee, until meeting his future bride-to-be, Connie, in 1972. Dennis and Connie married in January of 1973 and went on to have three children, Kristopher, Sarah, and Daniel.
After 28 years as a Nuclear Power Plant Operator with Tennessee Valley Authority, Dennis retired and spent his pastime riding motorcycles, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and Timothy’s Cupboard food pantry, and maintaining his personal vegetable garden. But most importantly, Dennis spent his time attending his grandchildren’s various activities in Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Henry Frank Williams; and his grandparents, Willis and Estelle Sutton.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; his three children, Kristopher F. Williams (Cara), Sarah F. Stewart (David), and Daniel M. Williams (Amanda); his eleven grandchildren, Olivia, Dalton, Benjamin, Gracie, Anna, Abbi, Tessa, Lily, Grae, Madi, and Kathryn; his mother, Evelyn Lester; his sisters, Connie Reed (Johnnie) and Sheila Williams; and his brother, William “Marty” Williams.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at the White Bluff First United Methodist Church in White Bluff, TN. The visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Burial with Military Honors will be held at the Williams Cemetery on Crow Road in Charlotte, TN.
