   With deep sorrow, the family of Charles announces his passing on April 28, 2025.  Services for Charles Sugg, age 54, of Burns, TN will be held at 11:00 AM at the Taylor Funeral Home on Monday, May 5, 2025.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service.   Burial with Military Honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the  Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, TN.  For those desiring, memorials may be made to Heart'n Soul Hospice, Nashville, TN or to The Headstrong Project, a non-profit providing care for Military and Veterans.  
 

   Charles was born in Dickson, TN to Bill and Charlene Sugg. He was the grandson of the late Edward & Lucille Pendergrass Sugg of Burns, TN, and Charles Houston & Ruby Pauline Glover Binkley of Sprinfield, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ricky Sugg.   

   During his 22 years of active and reserve Army career, Staff Sergeant Charles Sugg served two deployments in Iraq and Kuwait from December 2002 to March 2004 and November 2008 to March 2010.  During those deployments, SSG Sugg received the Army Commendation Medal; Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/Bronze Hourglass and M Device; Noncommissioned Officer S Professional Development Ribbon; Army Service Ribbon; Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon; Over Seas Service Bar; IRAQ Campaign Medal w/2 Campaign Stars and Humanitarian Service Medal.   

   Those who knew him best remember him as a proud uncle, an intelligent, witty and charismatic man who loved making people laugh. Charles was strong in his faith and loved God, his family, his country and his military brothers.

   Charles is survived by his two sisters: Amy Lawrence and Yachtney Miller; brother: Marshall Sugg; brothers-in-law: Tony Lawrence and Patrick Miller; Nephews: Hunter and Fisher Lawrence.   

   “Be always joyful; pray continuously; give thanks whatever happens; for this is what God in Christ wills for you.”  1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18   

Bigger than me....Today is a good day, no matter my hair or philosophy.
