Henry Lewis Newcomer, age 80 of Bon Aqua, TN died on May 28, 2025, at the Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday June 7, 2025, at the Taylor Funeral Home. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Lewis was born October 15, 1944, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He was a son of the late James Henry Newcomer and Ester Laura Rhinehart Newcomer. He had worked as a hide puller at a packing house and at the steel factory, Paxton & Vierling Steel, now known as PVS Metals. Lewis enjoyed the hobby of classic cars. He attended services at the United Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Duane Alan Chessor.
Mr. Newcomer is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Kay Schneider Newcomer; his daughter, Lisa Chessor of Nunnelly; his sons, Timothy Lewis “Tim” Newcomer (Ellen) of Colorado, and Michael Francis Newcomer (Melissa) of Nebraska; his sister, Carolyn Ruth Newcomer of Arizona; his brothers, Edward Rhinehart Newcomer of Iowa, and James Newcomer of Florida. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Logan Michael Newcomer, Jake Thomas Newcomer, Alicia Ann Jenkins, Joshua Alan Chessor, Andrea Amber Chessor, Jacob Andrew Chessor; great grandchildren, Blaze Cowan-Lee Jenkins, Allison Leeann Jenkins, Damion Cowan-Lee Jenkins, and Andre Lucas Barnhill.
