Funeral services will be Friday July 25, 2025 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Apostle Cecilia Grimsley, Eulogist. Place of rest will be in the East Dickson Cemetery. Michael Leroy Pollard aka (IKEY) was born July 24, 1964 to the parents of Albert Leroy and Myrtle Roszene Pollard in Dickson, Tennessee. He was the third of five children blessed by this union.
Michael was rambunctious as a child, full of energy, mischievous and joyful. He was always smiling and full of jokes. He loved sports, especially basketball.
Michael was always bragging about his basketball career at Dickson Co. High School. He was a starting player for the Cougars from 1980-1982. The starting five were: Robbie Blue, Donnie Primm, Dennis Ramey, Donnie Wilson, and Michael Pollard. They were coached by Shelby Rye and Steve Phillips. This team was the 1st Dickson Team to play in Sub State, 1st Team to ever beat Clarksville High School. Michael’s individual honors: 1st Team Player All-State, 1st Person picked to play McDonald’s All-star Team 1982, and Most Valuable Player of the 1982 Squad.
Michael received His High School Diploma in May 1982. He continued his education and love for basketball when he attended Roane State Community College.
Michael worked at the Ford Glass Plant from 1994 to 2007. He achieved two degrees as a pipe fitter and plumber. After retirement from Ford, Michael loved to use his skills as a handyman helping family, and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents: Albert Leroy Pollard and Myrtle Roszene Pollard; two brothers, Kenny Wayne Pollard and Paul Tyrone Pollard. Uncles: Billy Brown, Allen Nunley, and Steve Akins; Aunts: Alline Nunley, Dorothy Grimes, Willie House, Della Gordon, Carolyn Hogan, Betty Hughes, Veronica Grigsby, Mary Lou Marsh, and Mary Delores Corlew.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Daughter Tabreka Pollard, Brother, Anthony Ray (Teresa) Nunley, Sister, Della Smith, Aunt, Annette Yarbrough, Uncles, Wilbert Hogan and Robert Corlew, several Nieces, Nephews, a Host of Cousins and Friends.
Michael was well loved by bonus children (The Bell & Mallory Family) that fondly called him “granddaddy”. He will be truly missed.
