Vera Tidwell Dedman, age 85, of Bon Aqua, TN, died peacefully August 11, 2025, at NHC The Trace.
Vera was born in Fairview, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Henry Warren and Bessie Mae Dotson Tidwell. She was the widow of the late Jesse James Dedman who died in 2008. Vera was also preceded in death by her daughter Christy Jo Dedman in 2004. She was the last of her brothers and sisters Leon Tidwell, Percy Tidwell, Betty Casteel and Juanita Cox.
Vera worked most of her life, retiring from Alco Industries, as a customer service representative with some 36 years of service, later working in a local meat processing company and at times clerked at her brother-in-law and sister-in-law’s market. She was always about family and considered many as family that were not blood kin, including her Clearview Church of Christ family.
Since the death of her daughter Christy, who was an officer with Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, she worked and supported everything that the department was involved in.
Vera is survived by her Son, Curtis E. Dedman, her God-Granddaughters, Kassi Dedman and Kara Binkley, and her God-Great Grandson, Colson (aka Little Man) Binkley, Several nieces and nephews and many extended family members. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Eulene (Merrill) Arnold, Liz (Harlan) Clifton and Tommy Clifton.
