Tanisha “Poodie” Vaughn was born on May 21, 1989, at Goodlark Hospital in Dickson, Tennessee. On a bright and sunny Sunday, August 17, 2025 with a smile on her face, she was called home to be with the Lord.
Poodie’s life was a true testament to living each day with joy, laughter, and love—always with a smile, no matter what challenges came her way. To know Poodie was to remember her; she never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Her signature greeting, “Hey… hey, you fat,” was delivered with a kind of love and humor that only she could pull off—always sparking laughter and connection.
From a young age, Poodie was full of curiosity and spunk—whether sneaking into the kitchen for a snack, finding random places, holes, or spaces to drop items in at Grandmama’s house, or going outside for a little adventure. Her vibrant spirit was unmistakable. If you ever received a nickname from Poodie, know that you held a special place in her heart.
Poodie is survived by her loving and devoted parents, Roschelle and Virgil Taylor; her cherished grandmother, Dorothy Vaughn; and her siblings: Quinton Vaughn, Trista (Louie) Jones, Brianna Griffith, and Tavon Taylor. She also leaves behind a host of beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Carla Vaughn; grandfather, Arlandus Vaughn; aunts Sherry, Stephanie, and Lisa; uncle Stephen; and cousin Tyree Vaughn.

Though her journey was far too short, the joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories she gave to those around her will live on forever.
