Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 2PM from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Daniel Wilkerson will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11AM until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Shriners' Children's Hospitals or to Caris Hospice.
Brennan Thompson, Brent Thompson, Nathan Heath, Matthew Garton, Taylor Sherrill, and Johnny England will serve as casket bearers. Braylon Heath, Will Wilkerson, and Cobi Heath will serve as honorary casket bearers.
Rubie “Mom” Martin Corkan, age 97, peacefully passed from this life on August 22, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Rubie was born on July 8, 1928, in White Bluff, TN, to the late Scott Martin and Edna Brittain Martin. Rubie was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family and extended family. She was always known as “Mom to all her children’s friends and teammates through the years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, and reading. Rubie was a member and Past Worthy Matron of White Bluff-Rock City #2, Order of Eastern Star. Wherever they went, it was always “Jack & Rubie” or “Mom & Pop”. Rubie and Jack were married for 72 years when he passed in 2017.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” “Pop” Corkan Jr., brother, Ralph Martin, sisters, Pearl Williams, Velva Ann Stacey, her daughter, Carol Thompson, her son, Richard Corkan, grandson, John Heath, 2 great- granddaughters, Rileigh Heath, Riley Doby, and a great-grandson, Mayson Garton.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Corkan Heath of White Bluff, TN, Kaye Wilkerson (Ed) of Nashville, TN, daughter-in-law, JoJo Corkan of Success, M0, son-in-law, Bren Thompson of White Bluff, TN, 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 8 great great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
