Mr. Sloan was born on July 7, 1939 in Potrerillos, Chile during the time his father was working as an executive with the Miami Copper Company in Chile. He was a son of the late William Francis Sloan and the late Alice Mildred Bozeman Sloan. He graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Great Neck, Long Island, NY. He served with the U. S. Navy Reserve. He earned his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College. He operated the Sloan Law Office in Kingston Springs, TN serving the greater Nashville area. Mr. Sloan attended the Methodist Church in Pegram, TN and the Church of Christ in Kingston Springs, TN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Ann Hise Sloan; brother, John Sloan; sister, Laura Sloan.
Mr. Sloan is survived by an uncle, Robert Bozeman, Sr. of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Reynolds (Johnny) of Graham, Texas.
