Public visitation will be on Sunday, September 7, 2025, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.  His place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens at a later date.

Those desiring memorials are suggested to the Water Street Church of Christ.

Michael Lynn “Mike” Shelton, age 70, of White Bluff, TN, died peacefully on September 4, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Mike was born June 18, 1955, in Dickson County and was the son of the late Robert (Jack) and Billie Cochran Shelton. He was a graduate of Dickson County Senior High School, Class of 1973.  He worked with the City of Dickson and the City of Charlotte in wastewater management.  Being a lifelong farmer, his true love was farming. He loved the land and tilling the soil. Mike was a simple man and loved all the simple things, especially the outdoor life.

Mike proudly served on the board of the Dickson County Farm Bureau for some 30 years. He loved tractors of all kinds, especially the antique tractors, collecting pocket knives, Louis L’Amour books and loved everything about University of Tennessee Football. Mike was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his wife, Valerie Larkins Shelton, his children, Stephanie Taggart and her husband Kris of Dickson, TN, Rachel Sampson and her husband Jacob of Tucson, AZ, Susan Leimer and her husband Eric of Dickson, TN, William Goodman and his wife Lindsay of Franklin, TN, and Charlie Bass and his wife Amy of Murfreesboro, TN, his brothers, Tim Shelton and his wife Patti of Vanleer, TN and Andy Shelton and his wife Lisa of Dickson, TN, his sister, Dawn Black and her husband Jimmy of Dickson TN, his brother in law, Bobby West and his wife Janet of El Paso, TX, his twelve grandchildren, Langley Grace Bass, Luke Bass, Andrew Taggart, Rose Taggart, Jack Leimer, Sam Leimer, Oliver Sampson, Maren Sampson, Ellen Goodman, Madelyn Goodman, Clark Walker and Chadwick Walker, many nieces , nephews, aunts and uncles, Three special friends, Rececca Lampley, Hope White, and Barry Felts.
