Betty was born in Hickman County on December 13, 1948, to the late Curby Virgil Buttrey and Mallie Mae Sowell Buttrey. She worked for Red Kap for many years and later worked for the State of TN Department of Human Services until retirement. She had a great love for her husband, Royce of 46 years. She also was a loving and devoted mother to her children.
Mrs. Hafner was also active in her community, specifically within law enforcement, loving and supporting Royce as a detective and his co-workers for many years. Finally, she was a devout Christian and was a member of the Parker’s Creek Baptist Church. She longed for the day to be reunited with her daughter, Anita, in Heaven. What a day that will be!
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter: Anita Blanks; and her sisters: Polly Patrick and Eula Batey.
Survivors include her husband: Royce Hafner of Dickson; her son: Jeffrey Blanks (Megan) of Dickson; her stepson: Derrick Hafner of Lyles; her sister: Helen Lankford of Dickson; her grandchildren: Addison Nicole Blanks, Nathan Brown (Leah), Emma Hafner, and Elijah Hafner; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
