Mr. Clarence Hardy McElhiney, age 92 of Dickson, died Friday, April 5, 2013 at NHC of Dickson. A funeral service was held Monday, April 8, 2013 at 11am at the Taylor Funeral Home. Burial followed in the LeComte Cemetery. Mr. McElhiney was born November 2, 1920 in Dickson County, Tennessee. He was a Son of the late Evie Jane Holland McElhiney and Samuel McElhiney. He was a WW II Veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in the Headquarters Battery 118th Field Artillery Battalion of an Infantry Division. He took part in the efforts at Normandy, Ardennes and Rhineland.

After serving his Country, he returned home to Tennessee where he enjoyed the peace of farm life as a hard working dairy farmer. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Mary Brunett McElhiney; Sisters, Beatrice Brazzell, Tennie Brazzell, Mamie Harrell, and Gracie Stewart. He is survived by his Brothers, Ray McElhiney of Dickson, Leslie McElhiney of Gleason, Edward McElhiney of Dickson; Sister, Hazel Vetter of Dickson; Several Nieces and Nephews.
